Curious about a removed post

Posted by TechnicToonzYT - 1 month ago

Hello, I'm Sam.

I'm unsure about something that I posted here and why it disappeared. I'm a super super beginner animator, only real experience being with some basic sprite animations I made for FNF stuff. I've been working on an animation that I'm really happy with so far of the song Shucks by Duccly and Ricky Index, so I uploaded a work in progress version of it. The post passed judgment, and it got an overall score of 2.75/5 stars from people voting. I get on Newgrounds today, it's gone, and I don't know why. I'm confident it didn't get blammed, so, I got some questions.

Are work in progress animations against the rules on movie posts, or was it just an issue with the music?

The movie portal doesn't allow WIPs if I remember correctly, maybe try reading the rules.

Also im not sure if that song is copyrighted but if it is that's also another possible reason, you can try making your own cover or finding another person's cover of the song on here if you want to use it. (As long as you still follow the user's Creative Commons liscense.)

Reread the rules and found some stuff I missed, it was probably about it being a WIP. Just odd how it got past judgement initially and THEN got taken down tho.

@TechnicToonzYT I guess it's just because unlike YouTube the moderation on NG isn't handled by AI detectors, so human error is probably a factor as to why it might've not gotten taken down immediately. Maybe a mod might've saw it and went "this is probably fine", until another mod saw it and went "this doesn't belong in the portal" and then deleted the vid. The rules for all the portals are very lengthy so a submission slipping through the cracks and not being taken down immediately is a thing that does happen every now and then.
